Kollár, László P. Flexural-torsional vibration of open-section composite beams with shear deformation. (English) Zbl 1022.74014 Int. J. Solids Struct. 38, No. 42-43, 7543-7558 (2001). Summary: The paper presents the analysis of natural frequency of thin-walled open-section composite beams. Vlasov’s classical theory of thin-walled beams is modified to include both the transverse shear and restrained warping induced shear deformations. A simplified, approximate solution is also presented, in which the effect of shear deformation is considered by applying the Föppl’s theorem.
