An operative approach to the analysis and evaluation of comprehension of mathematical knowledge. (Una aproximación operativa al diagnóstico y la evaluación de la comprensión del conocimiento matemático.) (Spanish)

Summary: Understanding mathematics has recently become a research topic of increasing interest in mathematics education. However, its high complexity makes the most recent advances insufficient and demands to adopt more operative and less interested approaches about its internal properties. Therefore, the principles of an approach based on the observable effects of understanding mathematics are exposed here, one of which refers to the individual behaviours and answers analysis when facing specifically prepared situations derived from the phenomenon-epistemological analysis of concrete mathematical knowledge. The operativity of the proposal is also illustrated with some examples related to a study we have carried out on understanding the written standard algorithm for the multiplication of natural numbers.
Resumen: La comprension de conocimiento matematico constituye un objeto de investigacion de interes creciente en educacion matematica. No obstante, su elevada complejidad hace que los avances mas recientes aun resulten insuficientes y reclama la necesidad de ir adoptando enfoques mas operativos y menos preocupados por el estudio directo de sus aspectos internos. En tal sentido, se presentan aqui las bases de una aproximacion centrada en los efectos observables de la comprension, que utiliza el analisis de comportamientos y repuestas adaptadas a situaciones expresamente planificadas derivadas del analisis fenomeno-epistomeologico del conocimiento matematico. La operatividad de la propuesta se ilustra con el estudio realizado sobre el algoritmo estandar escrito para la multiplicacion de numeros naturales.
