Examines the effects pullout programs have on fourth-grade students’ Ohio Proficiency Test performances by comparing string students and matched-ability nonstring students. Reveals no significant differences between the string and nonstring students in terms of mathematics and writing, but did find differences in favor of string students for reading and citizenship.
