Students’ understandings of the role of counter-examples. (English)

The present study examines students’ understanding of the notion of counter-example and ways in which students use counter-examples. In particular, the study reveals difficulties students encounter in using counter-examples. Two hundred and four students participated in the study. The students were top level $9^{\text{th}}$ and $10^{\text{th}}$ grades students from four different schools. (Abstract)
