Gender factors in primary-aged Singaporean students’ performance on mathematics tasks. (English)

Summary: This study investigated the performance of 607 Singaporean students who completed mathematics tasks sourced from national assessments (tests) in Singapore and Australia. Specifically, this study examined student performance on graphic and non-graphic tasks from the respective tests. The results of the study revealed significant performance differences in the favour of males on graphics items sourced from both countries. There were no gender differences across non-graphic tasks.
