Getting the new primary maths curriculum to add up. (English)
Prim. Math. 18, No. 2, 6-8 (2014).
Summary: On 11 September 2013 the secretary of state for education published the new national curriculum for primary mathematics. However, because the Department for Education will not be producing a primary mathematics framework to accompany it, Babcock learning and Development Partnership (Devon Local Authority), a leading school improvement service, has teamed up with publisher rising stars to develop a planning framework to help schools in Devon deliver the new curriculum. Dr. Ruth Trundley, primary maths adviser (team leader) at Babcock Learning and Development Partnership talks us through the new curriculum, the key changes and challenges and offers advice to schools in achieving a successful transition.
