Comparing the structures of 3rd graders’ mathematics-related affect in Chile and Finland. (English)

Summary: Affective factors are a significant indicator of the quality of learning. However, cultural differences in affective factors have not been studied comprehensively. In this report we will present Chilean and Finnish 3rd graders’ affective structures regarding mathematics. We identified both similarities and differences between the structures in these two countries. The study contributes to our knowledge of cultural comparison of affect research by extending the comparisons to the Latin American-Nordic axis.
