Summary: This chapter focuses on objectives and process of conducting teaching contests and its possible strengths and weaknesses for teacher professional development. It was found that the essential goals of teaching contests are to promote teachers’ understanding of curriculum and develop teachers’ professional competency. Teaching contests provide a powerful platform for those teachers who pursue excellence in teaching to display, discuss, explore, and share with others about mathematics instruction.
