Summary: Mathematics competition questions are useful resources for teachers to craft mathematical tasks for instructional purposes. These tasks could serve two objectives: to develop (i) students’ interest in mathematics and (ii) higher order thinking skills in the subject. The learning experiences provided by these tasks are rich and certainly appropriate for nurturing reflective learners. This chapter illustrates through examples how mathematics competition questions may be crafted into useful tasks for use in classrooms to advance the above two objectives.
