Sprinkler bifurcations and stability. (English)
Coll. Math. J. 41, No. 5, 383-391 (2010).
Summary: After discussing common bifurcations of a one-parameter family of single variable functions, the authors introduce sprinkler bifurcations, in which any number of new fixed points emanate from a single point. Based on observations of these and other bifurcations, they then prove a number of general results about the stability of fixed points near a bifurcation point.
