Methodology for investigating mental images of mathematics. (Metodología para un estudio sobre imágenes en matemáticas.) (Spanish)

Este articulo describe las razones que nos llevaron a elegir una metodologia cualitativa - el estudio de casos - como metodologia fundamental en la investigacion, cuyo proposito era construir explicaciones sobre el uso que el alumnado de $8^o$ de E.G.B. (13 a 15 anos), en un centro y en un aula determinada, hace de las imagenes mentales cuando resuelve y da sentido a problemas matematicos. Ordenar con precision y rigor todos los instrumentos utilizados en la recogida de la informacion y dar explicaciones de como se han llevado a cabo los analysis es el objetivo prioritario de este trabajo.
This paper tells about the reasons which led us to choose a qualitative methodology - case studies - as a fundamental methodology in our research which purposes were as follows: to enquire whether two 8th grade pupils (in a school and at a determined classroom) made use of mental images or not when they solved mathematical problems, or when they had to find a meaning for the mathematical questions they were asked, and also to arrange all the elements used in getting the information and to give answers about the way that the analysis have been done is the most important aim of this article.
