What kind of instructional theory do we need for instructional technology in the 21st century? Possible directions of further developments - UCIT. (English)

Entering the new millenium, instructional technology faces new challenges, but an integrated scientific view in form of an instructional theory is still lacking. The present article concentrates on a theoretical framework that serves as a basis for instructional design and evaluation procedures. Our approach (UCIT) offers guidelines for instructional research and practical procedures in instructional design and evaluation from a theory-oriented point of view. Specific criteria for an instructional theory are developed and discussed.
