This paper examines relationship between the sociology of mathematics and mathematics education. If in one hand we learn from the sociology of mathematics justifications that mathematics is bounded by the society that produces it, on the other, from mathematics education literature, we know that learning is strongly influenced by social based processes. Being so there are a number of questions that this paper points to as areas for investigations and research. (Abstract)
