The main goal of this contribution is to show that lack of credit of educational research in mathematics has caused a dramatic situation in the practice of mathematics teaching in Hungary. Educators must be careful about the evidences of education in any country of the world. These evidences should clearly be formulated both in verbal and written form. Without such an explicit formulation the treasures of educational culture may disappear. (orig.)
