I have not, in this paper, addressed theoretical frameworks in the sense of theories that frame our views of knowledge. I have focused instead on theories that inform my understanding of learning. Nevertheless, I am writing this paper not as an authority on theories of learning but as one who has found herself drawn to range of theories that seemed promising in explaining the impact of CAS in the teaching and learning of mathematics. In this paper, I will share some of those thoughts. (From the introduction)
