This article demonstrates how EXCEL can be used to approach a mathematics problem from different perspectives. The article begins with a discussion of the mathematics problem along with its typical solution, and follows with an illustration of the approaches that can be adopted to solve the problem. The mathematics problem, called Fencing a Sheep Pen, involves finding the maximum area and the dimensions of a rectangular enclosure given a fixed perimeter(orig.).
