Summary: It is usually considered that technology does not change the conceptual aspects of a mathematical activity but just makes easy and fast some technical parts of this activity. The perspective adopted in this talk is different. It is based on the following assumptions: the use of technology introduces changes in the conceptual part of the mathematical activity, solving a problem by using technology includes technical aspects different from those required in paper and pencil environment, technical and conceptual aspects of a mathematical activity are intertwined. The talk will discuss to what extent tasks given to students can take advantage of changes introduced by technology in order to organize the learning of new knowledge by students. The discussion will be illustrated with examples based on the use of dynamic geometry coming from various research works.
