Summary: The ideas of G. P\'olya had been the background for many problem solving inventories describing mathematical problem solving processes. They also constituted Schoenfeld's model for mathematical problem solving. This model is augmented especially by additional components concerning the emotional disposition and personal trails, system of values and social constraints of a problem solver. This modified model might help understanding better mathematical problem solving processes especially in real classroom settings. Some questions within this context conclude this article.
