Summary: Economy is one of the disciplines in which mathematics is applied, but math courses are often silent about economy. This article wants to change that. Four applications of mathematics in economy are developed: optimal repartition of manufactured goods over two markets, an optimization problem with first and second degree functions, the use of derivatives and integrals in marginal costs and profits and, finally, Lorenz curves and Gini coefficients.
