ab: Summary: The circle is a familiar object which can be used to motivate and
demonstrate many mathematical and geometrical techniques. For example,
in this paper we use the undergraduate approaches of vector geometry
and linear algebra to answer the question "What is the equation of a
circle in general position in three dimensional space?" The familiarity
of the circle provides a visual aide to help understand concepts of
three dimensional geometry such as orthogonality, vector function and
rotation of axis. The circle can lead us much further into such
concepts as abstract coordinate systems and representations.
