Summary: The Internet portal ``Program for Gifted'' (title in German: ``Begabte f\"ordern'') was set up by the Chair for the Didactics of Mathematics at the University of Augsburg in the science Year of Mathematics 2008. The published materials are developed for the support of mathematically gifted students both in the context of extracurricular study groups and withinclass grouping. There are several topics available already. We present two examples from this variety that arise from application and therefore emphasize the process of mathematical modelling.
