ab: Summary: This chapter discusses the nature and rationale of affective
assessment in the mathematics classroom, and introduces mathematics
teachers to three techniques of affective assessment as a quick start:
(1) a summated scale; (2) an interest inventory; and (3) a semantic
differential. It is useful for teachers who wish to take up the
challenge of assessing affects. A list for further reading is also
provided for interested readers.
