ab: From the introduction: We have tried for years to explain good procedures
and formats for the contest. We have decided that rather than explain,
we will illustrate an acceptable method. In the 2011 contest many teams
tried to force graph theory as a solution method. We will illustrate a
simpler method using only mainline high school concepts that could have
led to an outstanding paper. We will only illustrate the model for the
lost ring problem.
