This project explores some of the parallel developments in philosophy and mathematics in South Asia up to about the year 1500. It was created by the authors for a teamtaught class on the development of philosophy and mathematics in India. It has also been used by the first author in firstsemester calculus to show how the idea of the derivative evolved in India from the study of difference equations, totally independent of the goemetric idea of tangent lines.
