The author considers the philosophy of mathematical practice to identify a severe limitation in the attempt to assimilate visual reasoning to verbal reasoning, and by extension to criticize the approach to reasoning that treats all reasoning as if it were verbal reasoning. For his discussion, the author divides his article in the five sections viz 1) Introduction, 2) Mathematics, 3) Diagrams, 4) Icons, 5) Conclusion. Each section is well explained and well informative. The article is very useful to those who are going to study philosophy of mathematics.
