ab: From the text: On several occasions recently I have heard teachers say that
they want their learners to understand which of ‘the big three’
averages (mean, mode and median) is the most suitable one to use in
different circumstances. However, on none of these occasions have I
seen a clear example that I have agreed with of when one average is
obviously ‘more appropriate’ than the others.
