A note on interval MV-algebras. (English)

MV-algebras were introduced by C. C. Chang to give a proof of the completeness theorem for Łukasiewicz infinite-valued propositional logic. For background see the monograph [{\it R. L. O. Cignoli, I. M. L. D'Ottaviano} and {\it D. Mundici}, Algebraic foundations of many-valued reasoning. Dordrecht: Kluwer (2000; Zbl 0937.06009)]. In the paper under review the authors equip intervals $[x,y]$ in any MV-algebra with suitable operations, and show that the resulting structures are MV-algebra.
