The notion of a dimension stable poset is introduced and the minimal members of this class are investigated. In the next section the author describes the minimal stable posets of dimension 2. He defines six infinite families of posets. This list is complete. Further in Proposition 5 he determines which crowns are minimal stable. From the number-theoretic conditions in Proposition 5 he obtains that there exists an infinite number of minimal d-stable posets for each $d\ge 3$.
