Linear models for unbalanced data. 1st paperback ed. (English) Zbl 1095.62080

Wiley Series in Probability and Statistics. Hoboken, NJ: John Wiley & Sons (ISBN 0-470-04004-1/pbk). xxiv, 536 p. (2006).
This paperback version describes general statistical inference procedures for linear models applied to data with nonnecessarily equal number of observations in each subclass. It essentially covers cell means models. Special topics treated include 2-way classification for the case of data with some cells empty, models with covariables, overparametrized models and restricted models. The theory is presented first without matrices and then in a matrix algebra framework. There is also an overview of computer packages outputs. Exercises that enable the reader to practice and become familiar with the techniques are provided for each chapter.
