On normal Abelian subgroups in parabolic groups. (English)

Let $G$ be a reductive algebraic group over an algebraically closed field, $P$ a parabolic subgroup of $G$, and $A$ a closed connected normal Abelian subgroup of $P$ in the unipotent radical of $P$. It is shown that $P$ has only finitely many orbits on $A$.
