New proofs are given for the well-known determinant representation of the Moore-Penrose inverse of a complex matrix and the Moore-Penrose solution of a linear system. The first result is generalized to the $\{1,2,3\}$, $\{1,2,4\}$ and $\{1,2\}$ inverses, respectively.
