Wünsch, V.
Huygens' principle on Petrov type $N$ space-times.
(English)
[J] Ann. Inst. Henri Poincaré, Phys. Théor. 61, No.1, 87-102 (1994). ISSN 0246-0211

There is a conjecture that Huygens' principle holds for the scalar wave equation or Maxwell's equations or Weyl's equation on a four-dimensional spacetime if and only if the latter is conformal to a plane gravitational wave. Some group of authors pursues the strategy to consider the conjecture separately for each Petrov type. The present paper just proves it for Maxwell's equations and Weyl's equation assuming Petrov type $N$. Methods developed by the author in earlier papers or by others come to use.
