Boehm, W.; Hansford, D. Parametric representation of quadric surfaces. (English) Zbl 0766.65011 RAIRO, Modélisation Math. Anal. Numér. 26, No. 1, 191-200 (1992). This brief well-illustrated paper deals with the parametric representation of quadrics from a geometric point of view. The authors consider several cases where triangular and quadrangular quadratic Bézier patches represent quadrics, which are used in geometric modeling.A detailed discussion may be found in the first authors’ paper [NURBS for curve and surface design, Collect. Pap. SIAM Conf. Geom. Des., Tempe/AZ(USA) 1990, 1-14 (1991; Zbl 0760.68087)].
