Summary: Two approximation results of the Hedberg type are proved in the Orlicz- Sobolev space $W\sp mL \log L(\Omega)$ when $\Omega$ is an open subset of ${\bbfR}\sp 2$. Applications to the description of the action of some distributions in the dual as well as to some strongly nonlinear elliptic boundary value problems are mentioned.
