Aleksandrov, A. D. On the foundations of geometry. (Russian) Zbl 0622.51013 Sib. Mat. Zh. 28, No. 4(164), 9-28 (1987). This paper is a free continuation of an earlier paper by the author [see Sib. Math. J. 25, No.2, 183-194 (1984); translation from Sib. Mat. Zh. 25, No.2(144), 21-34 (1984; Zbl 0543.51015)] concerning the foundations of geometry. The results of this previous paper are partially elaborated and simplified, and a new system of axioms of Euclidean geometry is presented in the first part of this paper, having the concepts point and line segment as its primitive ones. The author’s wish was to create a new geometrical axiomatics more intimately connected with the practical experience. Some aspects concerning this problem are discussed in the second part of the present paper.
