Davis, S. W. The strict p-space problem. (English) Zbl 0611.54020 Topology Proc. 10, No. 2, 277-292 (1985). One of the most interesting problems in the theory of generalized metric spaces was the question whether every strict p-space is submetacompact \((=\Theta\)-refinable). This well-written paper describes what was known about it in 1985. In the meantime the problem has been solved (affirmatively) by Jiang Shouli, a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin.
