Dirac field on Newtonian space-time. (English) Zbl 0583.53061

The authors develop a covariant theory for a Dirac (spin 1/2) particle coupled to Newtonian gravity. The Dirac field is described by a four- component spinor on a Newtonian (curved) spacetime and the field equations are derived from a quadratic Lagrangian, preserved by the covariance group of Newtonian gravity. The construction of the matter current vector and of the stress-energy tensor is considered generally and applied specifically for the Dirac field.
