The article presents an alternate proof of a technical lemma concerning monotonically decreasing sequences in \(\sigma\)-complete lattice ordered groups. The lemma, due to D. H. Fremlin, is used in the proof of the Matthews-Wright vector lattice valued measure extension theorem.
