L'auteur de l'article donne au concept d'opérateur spectral une notion plus large que celle rencontrée dans les oeuvres et travaux de N. Dunford par une plongée de l'espace initial (où agit l'opérateur) dans un espace plus vaste où l'opérateur considéré admet comme prolongement dans ce nouvel espace un opérateur spectral au sens de Dunford.
