Arnol’d, V. I. Some remarks concerning elliptic coordinates. (Russian. English summary) Zbl 0539.53049 Zap. Nauchn. Semin. Leningr. Otd. Mat. Inst. Steklova 133, 38-50 (1984). The paper contains an outline of a theory of elliptic coordinates exposed by an intrinsic method. Some theorems on geodesics and geodesic flows are given. Generalizations of gravitational fields of an ellipsoidal mass are discussed.
