M. 43, 481 (JFM 43.0481.*), 1912) definiert der Verf. die “areolare Ableitung” einer Funktion \(f(z) = u + iv\) so als \(\varphi(z) = -\left(\frac{\partial u}{\partial y}+\frac{\partial u}{\partial x}\right)+i\left(\frac{\partial u}{\partial x}-\frac{\partial v}{\partial y}\right)\), daß \(\int_C f(z)dz=\iint_D\varphi(z) d\omega\) ist, wo \(C\) die Kontur eines einfach zusammenhängenden Bereiches \(D\) ist, \(d\omega\) dessen Flächenelement. Er wird dadurch auf die Integralgleichung \(\varphi(z) = h(z) + \frac{1}{2\pi i}\iint_D\frac{\varphi(z)}{z-\zeta}\;d\omega\) geführt und beweist, daß sie keine überall in \(D\) analytische Lösung besitzen kann.
