Summary: He's variational iteration method [{\it J.-H. He}, Appl. Math. Comput. 114, No.~2--3, 115--123 (2000; Zbl 1027.34009)] has been used to obtain solution of nonlinear gas dynamics equation. This method is based on Lagrange multipliers for identification of optimal values of parameters in a functional. Using this method creates a sequence which tends to the exact solution of the problem.
