Consider the differential equation $$u''+ {k\over t} u'= c(t) g(u)\tag1$$ together with the boundary conditions $$u'(0)= 0,\quad u(M)= 0,\tag2$$ $$u'(0)= 0,\quad u(+\infty)= 0,\tag3$$ where $c$ and $g$ are bounded. Using a variational setting, the authors derive conditions guaranteeing the existence of positive solutions to (1), (2) and (1), (3).
