Alvarez, C.; Conca, C.; Friz, L.; Kavian, O.; Ortega, J. H. Identification of immersed obstacles via boundary measurements. (English) Zbl 1088.35080 Inverse Probl. 21, No. 5, 1531-1552 (2005). The authors study the inverse problem of determinig an inaccessible rigid body \(D\) immersed in a viscous fluid, in such a way, that \(D\) plays the role of an obstacle around which the fluid is flowing in a greater bounded domain \(B\). They prove, under some smoothness assumptions on \(B\), that the body \(D\) can be identified by the measurement of the velocity of the fluid and the Cauchy forces on some portion of the boundary of \(B\).
