Robust fault detection in descriptor linear systems via generalized unknown input observers.

The robust residual generation in descriptor linear systems with unknown disturbances is considered using the generalized full-order state observers. A parametric approach is proposed for decoupling the effect of a disturbance from the residual signal. The approach is based on the state-feedback eigenstructure assignment for descriptor systems and the general disturbance decoupling problem in regular descriptor linear systems. An example shows the effect of the proposed approach.
