Optimization of ship’s trajectory in collision situation. (English) Zbl 1029.70012

Summary: The paper presents a method to determine the minimum-time control of ships in a situation of collision with other objects afloat. It also includes the results of simulations conducted by this method. In particular, we study parallel approaching of a ship to an encountered object, i.e a situation typical of the collision of two ships.
