(English)
[J] Appl. Math. Comput. 143, No.2-3, 539-541 (2003). ISSN 0096-3003

Summary: By the semi-inverse method, a variational principle is obtained for the Lane-Emden equation, which gives much numerical convenience when applying finite element methods or Ritz method.
MSC 2000:
*65L05 Initial value problems for ODE (numerical methods)
65L60 Finite numerical methods for ODE
34A34 Nonlinear ODE and systems, general
