Yin, Jing-xue; Huang, Wen-mei Optimal boundary control of a nonlinear diffusion equation. (English) Zbl 1010.49002 Appl. Math. E-Notes 1, 97-103 (2001). The authors study an optimal control problem governed by a quasilinear parabolic equation. The control function is the heat transfer coefficient in a variational boundary condition. The authors prove the existence of an optimal control which minimizes a quadratic cost functional. The stability of the state variable with respect to the control variable is also studied.
