Lasjaunias, A. A survey of Diophantine approximation in fields of power series. (English) Zbl 0990.11043 Monatsh. Math. 130, No. 3, 211-229 (2000). This is an instructive survey giving a very useful introduction to the principal methods and ideas of the theory of Diophantine approximation in fields of power series. The author carefully deals both with the cases of zero and positive characteristic in part to put results of the latter case into context. The survey includes a particularly interesting analysis of and explanation for several explicit continued fraction expansions of certain algebraic formal power series in positive characteristic first pointed to by W. H. Mills and D. P. Robbins [J. Number Theory 23, 388-404 (1986; Zbl 0591.10021)].
