Stable and efficient spectral methods in unbounded domains using Laguerre functions. (English) Zbl 0979.65105

The author develops uniformly convergent Galerkin approximations by use of Laguerre functions for elliptic problems in regular unbounded domains, and builds up stable and efficient numerical algorithms for their practical implementation.
